At the beginning of this year one of the things I set out to do was to write at least one post a month to check in on the blog about where I was and what I was doing. Along with this I decided it was a pretty darn good idea to haul out my camera and take at least one photo a month. In deciding what to photograph I realized I was quite limited in subject matter: I don’t have kids so I couldn’t photograph them every month and if I took photos of my furkids and posted them I think I would go grey before my time trying to get a decent photo (furkids are not very good at listening when you tell them to “sit, bring their chin forward and look to the right” to get the perfect shot). So I decided to take a self-portrait every month… by the way are all self-portraits now referred to as a selfie?!?
The idea of the monthly self-portrait was further inspired by a wedding photographer whose blog I have long admired: Gail Werner. I decided to call the series coffee & a catch up and so here I am wrapping up my posts from last 12 months. I am grateful for the fact that I documented my year and took the time to sit down and write a post when I could and document what was on my mind at the time. If you read through the list of post headers you will see something a little odd happened in June: the birth of Clean Living Chronicles was documented!
If you think it’s a little odd that I posted about starting a blog on the very blog that you are reading now then don’t fret… what happened was, that I was blogging over at another site I run called Lovey Dovey which is a business venture that is still on my bucket list to kick off. I realized last year that trying to start a new business, working full time and trying to work on building a healthier lifestyle was turning out to be too much to realistically pull off. So I put my proverbial “big girl panties on” and retired the idea of Lovey Dovey for now and decided to focus on my health and my career for this chapter of my life. I still wanted to blog and share my journey with the world and so Clean Living Chronicles was born. I didn’t want to lose my journal of coffee & catch up posts so I migrated them all here so that I could keep the full series in one place. So in a short: if you are wondering why the posts seem a little different between Jan and Dec then it’s because they were written with two different audiences in mind.
In summary here is a list of links to each coffee & catch up post from last year so that you can catch up:

Coffee & Catch Up: Taking time to Reflect
As I reflect on all of them I realize that I started off super positive and somehow ended the year on a bit of a downer. I think my time away in Cape Town over December really helped me to clear my head, and to be honest I realized I was way more exhausted that I thought at the end of the year. Despite ending on a rather melancholy post I’m actually excited about 2015 and I’m going to try work hard at trying to make the editorial a little more upbeat (don’t worry I will still be “real” so if there is something that is worrying me I’m still going to share). I have so many great ideas in my head for my little home on the web and I’ve been working on getting them down on paper + working out a schedule so that I can spend more time photographing, writing and sharing with you.
Thank you for following along with me on my journey last year and for sharing with me when you could. I’m looking forward to walking this road together with you for another jam packed year of learning, experimenting and generally having lots of fun on the blog… So here is to a fabulously healthy 2015!
