I decided in mid-May to setup the #100HealthyDays challenge for myself because I thought I needed something more challenging after the 30 day challenge goals I’d set previously.
I also thought that if I could find a few people on the same mission to share the journey with, that it would keep me motivated during the winter months. historically I tend toward wanting to hibernate in winter i.e. exercise and healthy eating habits fly out the window and so the idea behind the #100healthydays challenge was that it was going to spur me, and the community I was hoping to build, into action.
I launched the challenge July 1st and it’s been an amazing journey thus far! I have met so many wonderful people along the way and my kitchen has never smelt so good from all the fabulous cooking. About a week ago I heard about the Well I Am challenge and found out that I wasn’t the only one with the idea of running a challenge through the winter months to find some motivation. It’s amazing how life has a way of presenting options to you when you least expect it, and when I read about Well I Am a light went on. I decided that the little added incentive of a big cash prize at the end of the 100 days was that little extra “spice” that would keep me going. So I’m amalgamating the two challenges into one and joining in on the #wia100healthydays challenge as well, why not head over and sign up to (you have until 12 September to register (that will give you a little less than the 100 days but it’s never too late to start right!).
There really won’t be much of a change for Clean Living Chronicles readers: I’m still going to keep posting little inspirational notes every day for the full 100 days, and I’m still going to work toward a happier healthier me (guys the idea is that we do this together so this sentence should really read: we are going to work toward a happier healthier us). Only difference is I’m going to hand over my progress photos and measurements to Well I Am at the end and stand a chance of winning a bunch of really cool prizes.
On that note, I finally narrowed down my goals for the duration of the challenge to the following four:
- Eat Clean in 30 day cycles with a 5 day “Rest” in between
- Get to Crossfit 3 Times a Week, no if’s buts or maybes ( on and added note here I’m aiming to master pull ups, hand stand push ups and work on a stronger core)
- Run a fast 10k
- 1 Digital Detox Day a week
Have you managed to narrow down a few goals to get you through this winter and motivate you towards a happier healthier you by the end of October? If you have then share them.. I’d love to hear how you are doing.
