Hello Bunnies! I’ve totally overshot the 28th of February deadline for our regular coffee date and with good reason: I’ve been gallivanting around the Cape on business as well as taking some time over weekends to explore and try new things. Along with travelling work has been pretty busy – it seems that everyone hit the ground running this year and that all too familiar over-busy feeling has been creeping in. That aside I’m finally sitting down to catch up and process everything that happened in February traditionally dubbed: the month of love.
Coffee & Catch-Up
I just can’t believe that I’m sitting down to write the January coffee and catch up post for 2015… it was like I blinked on new year’s eve and magically landed up here at the end of Jan! I’m sure that most of you are feeling the same way, especially for those of you who set out 30 or so days ago… full of hopes and dreams to make 2015 your best year yet. When we are focused on goals and aspirations coupled with getting back into our usual work schedules, school calendars and everyday lives we suddenly realise how difficult change is and sit wondering whether all the change we had in mind with our new year’s resolutions are sustainable….
At the beginning of this year one of the things I set out to do was to write at least one post a month to check in on the blog about where I was and what I was doing. Along with this I decided it was a pretty darn good idea to haul out my camera and take at least one photo a month. In deciding what to photograph I realized I was quite limited in subject matter: I don’t have kids so I couldn’t photograph them every month and if I took photos of my furkids and posted them I think I would go grey before my time trying to get a decent photo (furkids are not very good at listening when you tell them to “sit, bring their chin forward and look to the right” to get the perfect shot). So I decided to take a self-portrait every month… by the way are all self-portraits now referred to as a selfie?!?
Hi Guys! That crazy time of year is upon us around here so taking time out to write has somehow fallen to the bottom of my list of priorities for the past 6 weeks. We are currently on holiday in Cape Town visiting our home away from home and trying desperately to relax, soak up the sun and recover from what seems to have been a super busy year. Given I’m spending a quality four weeks unwinding with my hubby and our fur kids and I’ve taken a little time to think…. so expect the rest of this post to discuss some feelings, if speaking about feelings is as uncomfortable for you as it is for me… so be prepared!…
I recently found myself rethinking where my ship is heading for the next few months, which in turn got me thinking about what I have accomplished in the past few months (eeek… first sentence of a post and I’m making cheesy sailing references – sorry about that). I set out at the beginning of 2014 with many goals in mind and what seemed to be a clear plan of how to get there….. I have accomplished many of the goals, but the ones that I didn’t get to check off my list have been weighing on my mind….
